Recruitment initiatives

1. Hampton-Dumont Middle School career class tours. Coordinated by H-D Middle School teacher Stephanie Bochmann. Four Middle School careers classes visit the stations for one period to learn about careers available in broadcasting. Hosted by Craig Donnelly, Betsy Roberts, Mandy Strother and Marlin Burrier. October 3, 2011, January 2, Februrary 27, and April 16, 2012.

2. Sports Director Jeff Moss was a guest speaker at his alma mater Clarion Goldfield Middle School to address Mr. Pat O’brien’s 7^th grade class about career opportunities in radio. March 16, 2012.

3. College Internship. Taylor Katz participated as a summer intern in the KLMJ News Department. May 27^th through August 17^th. Hosted by Craig Donnelly, Betsy Roberts and Brian Fancher.

4. Perspective employee open house, June 28, 2012. Hosted by Craig Donnelly, Betsy Roberts and Shawn Dietz. Well attended, one part time employee was hired.

5. KLMJ and KQCR offer job shadowing opportunities to both high school students and adults interested in on air positions.

6. www.klmj.com and www.kqcr.fm have an online job line where all available positions both full and part time are posted. The job line is available free of charge for local businesses and industries to post job openings they may have.
