Michael Schleisman

Michael Schleisman was born on November 18, 2003 at 36 weeks at Wright Medical Center to Jason and Micki Schleisman. He was 6 lbs 9 oz. After delivery, he went into respiratory distress due to fluid on his lungs and required oxygen. It was decided to have him transferred to Blank Children's Hospital for further treatment by ground ambulance. I was very upset knowing that my new baby was being transferred and couldn't stay with me.

When the ground crew arrived, a family friend, Kristy Oswald RN, came into my room. She said "I will take good care of him and you have nothing to worry about." That made me feel a lot better knowing that he was being taken care of by someone that I knew.  Michael stayed at Blank from November 19 - 24th. He received oxygen, IV antibiotics and was also under the bili lights after developing hyperbilirubinemia or jaundice. Jason and I couldn't have asked for better care from the nurses and physicians. They let us know everything that was going on with Michael and made sure that we had everything that we needed. Kristy came and checked on us several times to see how he was doing and answered any questions that we had.
