Hello! I started working here at KLMJ/KQCR in September of 2010, It’s only a part time job for me since I’m still in high school, (Hampton-Dumont, that is!) but so far I love it here. I’ve received training to both be a board op for sports shows (primarily high school), but just as well I’ve learned some of the ropes in being an announcer for live shows too! That’s not to say that there still isn’t a lot for me to learn, and I plan to learn as much as I can.

I’m not much of an athletic person, which is to say, I’m not very good at the sports I try. Nonetheless they’re still fun, I much prefer to watch or listen to sports, which makes radio a great choice for me.  Other than physical-labor type odd jobs, being here at KLMJ/KQCR is my first real occupation. I’m not too sure on the future, but each day I come into the office I find radio to be a growing possibility for a lifelong career.

Some of the finer things in life for me include creative writing, golf, working with technology or physics, along with my summer sport- paintball. In music, I enjoy both modern hip-hop and pop, along with classic rock and indie music. It’s kind of a wide variety, I know, so usually I can tune in just about anywhere and find a song I like. I will graduate from H-D in 2012, (and so long as the world doesn’t end in December) I plan on attending NIACC so that I’ll be able to stick around for a little longer. I live with my father, Brad Hicks, and mother, Sue Hicks, who both work for Mid-America Publishing. I also have an older brother Josh who currently lives out-of-state.
